Shane grew up in Montgomery County, Brazil, Bolivia, Iran, and Nevada. A son of teachers, he learned that education is the key ingredient for the vitality of any community, and his time abroad gave him an international perspective and a true sense of multiculturalism which has served him well in the strong and diverse District 39. Shane earned bachelors’ degrees in biology and Spanish at the University of Nevada, Reno, and then joined the Peace Corps shortly after 9-11, serving with his wife for three years as health volunteers in rural Zambia. On Wednesday, June 6th we will be hosting my annual fundraiser at Barking Mad Cafe in support of my re-election to the Maryland House of Delegates.

I'm proud to represent Maryland's 39th District, and I need your help to keep fighting for our middle class, strengthening our public schools, cleaning up the Bay and protecting the environment, and standing up to the Trump Administration.

District 39 and Montgomery County deserve to have a proven public leader representing them in Annapolis, and I'm ready to keep fighting.

The event will be on Wednesday, June 6th from 6:30pm until 8:00pm at the Barking Mad Cafe.

We hope to see you on June 6th!

Governor Larry Hogan signed the #fracking ban into law in Maryland but is inexplicably allowing a fracked gas pipeline right under the Potomac river through unstable, porous rock. This is our drinking water. The Maryland Department of the Environment under Ben Grumbles has shirked its responsibility to protect Marylanders by waiving its right to perform a full, independent review of the project. This is reminiscent of Scott Pruitt's EPA and deeply concerning. Apparently we can no longer trust MDE; a department which used to reliably protect our air, water, and public health. That is why I have introduced a bill that will require them to do their job.
